About Pallet King

A reference library and build-checking tool for air cargo handling, maintained by people who work loads rather than by a content team. 15 ULD types, 11 contour sections and 10 airframes.

How the data gets here

  1. A figure enters from a named source: an IATA ULD Regulations clause, a carrier Weight & Balance document, a ground-handler operations manual, or a carrier’s published specification page.
  2. The same field is then checked against independent sources. Where they disagree, both values are kept and the more restrictive one is used for any calculation — for example, PLA structural max gross of 4,626 kg against an operational 3,175 kg.
  3. Each record stores which source it came from, and each contour stores how well its profile is evidenced.
  4. Corrections are dated and published in the repository. A figure that changed because a source was found not to support it says so.

What we leave blank

Several fields in this library are empty on purpose. The A330-200F main-deck height has no confirmed published figure, so it is null rather than an estimate. Q5 has no matching IATA letter, so none is shown. Wider lower-deck containers are not declared compatible with the A350 or 787 centre doors because the door step could not be verified. An empty field that tells you it is empty is more useful than a plausible number you cannot check.
